Senz Presents LOOSE LEAF 1: Rich Garvey – By Design ft. Pro-V (2023)

I’m excited to present the first track from my forthcoming project “LOOSE LEAF”, a collection of Koala Sampler produced tracks featuring various incredible artists. LOOSE LEAF 1 is “By Design”: a collaboration with Minneapolis based MC/producer (& Koala Sampler master) @richgarveymusic on the rhymes and Montreal DJ/producer @pro_v_mtl on the cuts.

I met Rich around 2020 via the SampleRumble group and the @koalasampler vs SP-404 Tournament as we were both on the Koala team. I first discovered him as a beatmaker, but later found out he was nice on the mic too! After hearing a fire track he and SampleRumble founder aptato put out I immediately knew I wanted to work with him at some stage. I had some beats that I loved but that I hadn’t managed to fit into my Eucalize Legalyptus projects and decided to use these beats to start another project. With that in mind, it only seemed right to reach out to someone who’s not only a skilled MC but also a Koala Master to set things off properly. When he sent me back what he’d done I knew I’d done the right thing and LOOSE LEAF was off to great start…

I met Pro-V at one of the early @loop_sessions here in Montreal around 2017. He was one of the first people in the city to show my music support and invite me to play beats on his radio show (All Da Way Live every Wednesday on @ckutmtl from 3-5pm). He’s not only a veteran DJ but also a 🔥 producer with a crazy arsenal of vintage samplers – the first time I made a beat on an SP1200 was at his place. He’s a great friend and we’ve also got a few collab beats tucked away that might see the light of day sometime so I’m happy to have him on the cuts on this one.
